The Pursuit

I have no idea if this is the true origin of standing when we sing, but I have two guesses: 1. Standing is the proper position for singing from a purely musical/physiological standpoint. It allows for the best breath support.
2. Perhaps this is a tradition that started because the preacher didn’t want to the congregation to get leg cramps from sitting too long.
